F.A.Q.

Who operates S/Y Yemaya?

Yemaya is operated by Moorsafe Marina Ltd., a family-owned business specialising in marina management, moorings, underwater welding and marine construction.

Yemaya is also our family boat, where we spend weekends with our children and friends. Welcoming guests aboard allows us to share our love of the sea with visitors to our shores and locals looking to experience their home from a different perspective.

How many guests can Yemaya accommodate?

Yemaya can accommodate up to 10 guests in total, including adults, children and infants.

Who will be our skipper?

We work with a small group of independent, professional skippers, all qualified and experienced in taking charter guests through the Grenadines. Your skipper will be selected according to availability on the day of your charter.

Will there be a host or hostess on board?

Yes, a host or hostess is included on every trip to help look after you throughout the day. If you choose a self-catered cruise, your host will help serve the food and drinks you bring and assist the skipper with guest care.

Do you offer bareboat charters?

We only offer skippered charters, so you can relax and enjoy your time on the water while an experienced skipper takes care of the sailing.

Are children welcome on board?

Absolutely! As a family boat, Yemaya welcomes children of all ages, including infants. We have safety equipment for all sizes; please let us know the ages of any children when booking so we can prepare for your trip.

Children remain the responsibility of their parents or accompanying guardians at all times, both on board and in the water. Our crew is there to help, but cannot provide childcare or individual supervision.

Can Yemaya accommodate guests with reduced mobility?

Guests with reduced mobility may be able to join us, provided they can step aboard with assistance and use the stairs leading down to the bathrooms, also with assistance.

Because of the boat’s layout and access, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate guests who need to remain in a wheelchair or cannot stand independently.

Please contact us before booking to discuss your needs so we can assess whether the trip will be suitable and comfortable for you.

What if I am prone to seasickness?

We want you to enjoy every moment aboard. If you know you are prone to seasickness—or are unsure how you will feel—we recommend planning ahead. Ask a pharmacist or healthcare professional about a suitable preventative option and follow the product’s instructions, including when to take it before departure.

Seasickness tablets are also available on board, but it is best to check what is suitable for you before your trip, particularly for children.

How should I protect myself from the sun?
The cooling sea breeze can make it easy to underestimate the sun, and sunlight reflected off the water adds to your exposure.

Apply a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher before your trip. Reapply at least every two hours and after swimming or towel drying, following the product’s instructions. Bring a hat, sunglasses and clothing that covers your skin, and make use of the shade whenever possible.
